Five Languages in Five Days

Manfred Stienstra

Last year Eloy and I taught Ruby at the first ‘5 Talen in 5 Dagen’ summer course. In this course the students learn one programming language each day for five days in a row. Everyone was really satisfied with last year so we were invited again this year.

Introducing Ruby to University of Amsterdam students

The day started with a short lecture about the who, what, and why of Ruby, followed by a whirlwind tour of the Ruby syntax. After lunch everyone got out their laptops and we worked through a number of exercises.

The students enjoyed learning about Ruby and they even had a few great ideas for next year. If you're interested in the content you can take a look at the exercises and my proposed solutions.
